Whether you own a boat or not, or have boating experience or not,
if you have an interest in enjoying the Los Angeles-area waters, you're invited to enjoy the fun and friendship we offer. There are no membership fees and no mandatory duties. Just a $10 contribution for each sail (or day of motoring).
Single Mariners has been around for 18 years as a non-profit, non-commercial club providing sailing activities in a friendly and relaxed environment so single adults in the Los Angeles-area can share their enjoyment of sailing.
Our day sails alternate between Saturdays and Sundays. Meetings are in Marina del Rey the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month. The sails are always the Saturday following the 1st monthly meeting and the Sunday following our second meeting.
The day of the sail we meet for breakfast, then drive to our respective boats. After an afternoon of sailing, we usually meet up with the other boaters and share the food we've brought.
At times we also have other events such as overnight cruises to Catalina Island and parties. Many of our members become friends and crew for one another on their own. Sometimes boat owners come around seeking a partner to share ownership and responsibilities for their boats.
Are you a boat owner? Check us out!
Do you belong to another singles group? Lets share listings.
Have ideas for expanding our group? Let us know.
Just come on down to the Yacht Club — Marina del Rey — at 7:00pm on any 1st and 3rd day.
Seriously, just come on down. You do not have to write to us.
You can park Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit, sed diam nonummy nibh euismod tincidunt ut laoreet dolore magna aliquam erat volutpat.
Please bring $7 in cash for your meeting donation. This donation covers club costs and typically gets you a member-organized light buffet so you can come directly from work without stopping for dinner. (Beverages are available from the yacht club's bar. Canned beer is just $2.50. Other beer and wine are about $3 per glass; mixed drinks start at just $4.)
The volunteers at the desk will give you a waiver to fill out so you're all set to sail. We have a photo album you can look through to get to know some of us and some of our boats. As skippers come in and "put their boats up" we'll have sign-up sheets. If you'd like to go out on one of the boats offered, just put your name and phone number down — on both sides of the form. (You may sign up at any time during the evening as long as there is room, so you can get to know a skipper first.)
Boats are always welcome. Just let our Fleet Captain know if you'd like to take people out. If you have a photo of your boat, it can help to bring it. There is no requirement to make your boat available, but you might want to. Come get to know us.
The day you take your boat out with us, we buy you breakfast. After that sail your next meeting is on us.
To learn what to expect the day you go out with us, see our boating day page.
